The final day! I survived! We got up early to finalize our packing. We got our bags packed and down to the baggage hold and went to breakfast. We went to the Blogalicious brunch and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. They had Demetria Lucas talk at the brunch. She had my attention right away. She was pleasant and funny. She had me so inspired and interested that I bought her eBook from Amazon while I was listening to her. (Sorry about the blurry picture, I wasn’t really on top of thinking about pictures while I was listening to her.) It was also the first and only time I liked the food at the Hilton. They fed us well for brunch!

After brunch Lisa, Cher and I hopped in a cab and went to the piers to go on a cruise. I was very nervous because I didn’t take any motion sickness meds and I normally get seasick on the water. Luckily they told us that we could go up to the bow of the ship as soon as we pulled away from dock. Lisa and I headed straight there. Having the breeze blow on me helped me not to get sick. It was very cool to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The cruise tour guide had me tearing up as he talked about the Sept 11 attacks as we came around the island and saw where they twin towers should be standing. I truly enjoyed the cruise. The nice thing about the Gray Line Cruises was that they give you a free shuttle bus back to 50th downtown. We only had to walk 4 more blocks to our hotel which saved us $15 in cab fare.

We hung out in the bar at the hotel re-hydrating ourselves before headed towards the airport. At this point we found out that our flight was delayed by three hours due to a storm approaching the East coast. A lot of airlines didn’t handle the mess at the New York airports well that day, but I can say I had no issues at all with Southwest. They kept us up to date on what time we’d take off and even got us out slightly earlier than they had originally anticipated. Had I been traveling alone, this would have been the longest night ever, but luckily I was traveling with friends. It was so fun to get to know Melisa and MJ better.

I had a great weekend overall. Sure, there were some things that weren’t run well, but I had a great time with my friends and meeting PR. I hope that I get to meet some of you when you come to my town next year for BlogHer13, because it’ll be held in Chicago!
