Note: This post is brought to you by Madison Reed, the revolutionary new hair color that’s better for your hair. Click here to learn more about Madison Reed. Before Madison Reed

The holidays are on us and as you can tell, I was more than ready for a new hair color. My hair has been ready for a LONG time. The gray hair has been slowly invading my head and it’s driving me nuts. When I heard about Madison Reed‘s Better for You hair color, I had to give it a try!

I absolutely love everything about Madison Reed. Everything you need comes to you laid out in a very cute box with all the directions right there so there’s no searching and no paper to screw up with messy, dyed hands. Your kit comes with two pairs of gloves, a cap for your hair, barrier cream, cleansing wipe, shampoo, conditioner, and of course the color. The barrier cream works awesome. You put it around your hairline to stop the color from getting on your ears and forehead. The cleansing wipe also works great for getting that mess off that you didn’t prep for. I LOVED that it came with a cap for your hair for while you are waiting. You can dye your hair with no top on, put on the cap, slip a shirt on and then slip it back off before rinsing all without ruining a shirt!

Madison Reed Cap

I had issues the first time I tried coloring my hair with Madison Reed, but it turns out that I just didn’t have enough color. Make sure that if you have thick and/or long hair that you order a second bottle of color. Once I used two bottles on my hair at one time and left the color on my hair for the max time I got great results. The first time I did get a good amount of evening out, but it really didn’t cover my gray. Now I love it, I think it looks great. Here’s my reveal:

Before and After Madison Reed

Not only is the kit AMAZING, but the Madison Reed hair color smells great! My husband even mentioned that I didn’t smell like I colored my hair and I was sitting right next to him in the car. Madison Reed has 32 colors which are PPD, resorcinol, ammonia, and paraben free. I love that I’m not putting harsh chemicals in my hair, especially when I’m holding my baby all the time and she’s always playing with my hair. Now if I could figure out how to do something with my hair besides throw it in a ponytail every day!

Madison Reed Firenze Red

I used Firenze Red in my hair and I can’t tell you how much I really love the color! (No, that isn’t dandruff in my hair, it was snowing while I was snapping my picture!) One box of Madison Reed costs $29.95 which is more than I used to spend on hair color, but I am COMPLETELY sold on this hair color and will pay the extra to get it. Plus if you sign up for a subscription plan, you get $5 off per box and you can cancel at any time. Find your perfect hair color now!

Wow what a difference–love it! And that is really cool that it didn’t smell like it normally does with the chemicals of dying your hair.

I have been using this this hair color for a few months now and love it. The lack of annoying smell is huge, and I have it on automatic order.

That color looks so good on you! I like that it doesn’t have an awful smell. That is one of my biggest fears with hair color.
