Uncorked Ventures Wine Club

It has been way too long since I’ve shared any wine with you! Having a baby will do that. I was asked by Uncorked Ventures if I would like to review a few wines and talk to you about their wine club. All opinions are my own; why not come have a glass so they can be your opinions, too! Uncorked Ventures sent me two different Chardonnay wines to try.

Lennox Vineyards Chardonnay #WineABit

Lennox Vineyards Chardonnay

Lennox Vineyards is a small family-owned vineyard in the Russian River Valley. They grow both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. It is a very small vineyard; only on 2/3 of an acre! The Chardonnay was only made because his daughter wanted chardonnay at her wedding. I say he should keep it up on the chardonnay making, because this was an excellent wine. I really liked the Lennox Vineyards Chardonnay. It is a little bit more dry than the Villa San Maurice.

Tasting Notes: Lemon and pineapple aromas lead to a mid palate Chardonnay that is both crisp and oak driven. This is the flavor profile that California made into a brand.

Villa San Maurice Chardonnay #WineABit

Villa San Maurice Chardonnay

In 2001, Villa San Maurice was founded and turned into one of California’s premier multi-appellation wineries. Villa San Maurice continues to offer some of the finest California values on the market. Their premium quality, moderately priced wines are favored by premium wine retailers and, in particular, the hotel and restaurant trade. When I take a sip of the Villa San Maurice Chardonnay, I get a tingle in the back of my nose. The tingle is not a bad thing, just strange. This wine is more fruity and has less of an oak taste. The more I drink it, the more I like it!

Tasting Notes: Chardonnay fruit originating from highly-regarded vineyards in the cool microclimates of the
region has yielded a quintessential Monterey offering – as we have produced since 1985. The rich tropical fruit aromas and ripe varietal flavors are balanced by the crisp acidity prized by wineries throughout the state. This wine is sure to please a wide range of palates as it develops in the bottle.

Mmmm. I love wine. I have just started branching out and trying sweet reds. It is definitely something I am not too educated about though so a service like this would be great!

I wish I could like wine. I’ve tried so many times to enjoy it because I know it can pair great with foods. But in the end I can never get past the first couple of sips.

I love automatic shipments of wine at my door. I have moved past the white wines these days so a big selection is key for me.
