Salted Caramel and Chocolate Chex Mix

The other day I was looking for ideas for things to put in a trail mix. I wanted to make a trail mix for my kids, because we are always so busy after school until bedtime with all the sports and scouts we are in. I wanted something I can throw in baggies and let the kids take along with them for snacks. I’ll be sharing what I put together on Friday. While on my hunt, though, I came across this recipe and had to try it. Susan over on Tablespoon.com shared her recipe Better than Sex Chex Mix. I wanted to change the name up a bit, because, well… better than sex? Plus salted caramel and chocolate is all the craze. 😉  I found that this Chex Mix tasted even better the next day, so let it sit for a day! Make sure you are making it for a large crowd or you plan on giving some away. I gave away half the batch and still have too much laying around for me to munch on! As long as the chocolates and caramels you use are gluten free, this is a fun gluten free treat to make for yourself or someone you love, because the Chex cereal is gluten free.

I never knew chocolate or caramels could have gluten in them (as thickener?). In any case, this looks delish and I may just make a batch for our daughter’s graduation party!

Wow, that looks amazingly good! I love chocolate and caramel together. I don’t do gluten-free, but I have friends that are and this would be nice to make them.
