Note: I received a gift card from Outback Steakhouse in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own. outback, bloomin onion, military mates, military, operation homefront

How do you celebrate Independence Day? Before last year, we would go to a parade in the morning and usually cook out with the inlaws in the afternoon, sometimes followed by trying to watch fireworks somewhere. A few years ago we spent it in the Dells and I really enjoyed that. Last year, though, we were invited to my friend Kim’s house of They Smell. The kids had an excellent time there. They got to play with her kids all day long and then her husband puts on an awesome fireworks show after dark. The kids haven’t stopped talking about it since last July. They are counting down the days until Thursday when we make the trek to her house to play for the day. This time we invited our family if they’d like to come so we can still be with family and have a blast with Kim’s family.

If you’re looking for a place to have some dinner before headed out to some fireworks, go head into Outback Steakhouse. If  you say the phrase “Let Freedom Bloom” to your server, you will receive a free Bloomin’ Onion. We went to Outback last night and I almost ordered one. I wish I had!

We are going to a parade in the morning and then to Sea World for fireworks!

    A bloomin’ onion sounds good!
