International Home and Housewares Show, 2012, ChicagoThe past three days I’ve attended the Chicago International Home and Housewares show. The show is HUGE! It’s held at the McCormick place in Chicago, IL. There are three buildings used for the show and it feels impossible to see it all. After three days I did not walk one entire building the whole way. The South building was my favorite. It was dedicated to cooking. Oh you should see all the pretty things! It’s definitely not a place for a person with ADD! Look, something shiny! My second favorite building was the Lakeside building. That wasIHHS12, International Home and Housewares Show, Chicago what they called the “Wired” building. It was where they had small electronics. My least favorite building (also the least open to working with bloggers) was the North building. It was all the cleaning and organizational products. While I love looking at org stuff, nothing really caught my eye there. They have a bunch of celebrity chefs come to do cooking demonstrations. My friends Val and Lisa and I watched the Paula Deen segment. She never even cooked, she had someone else do that for her. She talked to the audience and rubbed on bald men’s heads the whole time. She’s lost over 20 pounds! Good for her taking a health overhaul.

IHHS12, Chicago, International Home and Housewares ShowOver at the SodaStream booth on Saturday they had a blogger event and their special guest was Jillian Michaels. I so badly wanted to get my picture taken with her since I had it taken with Bob Harper at BlogHer. As I was approaching her, though, they started announcing her. She was whisked out of there right after she spoke so she could get to her plane. I was able to get a quick pick of her from 2 people away. I got a chance to try the Dr Pete and Diet Rootbeer over at SodaStream. I’m hoping to get one soon so I can try more flavors.

#IHHS12, International Home and Housewares Show, ChicagoWhile walking around the south building yesterday we saw Guy Fieri in his booth. I couldn’t get the best angle to get a picture of him because people kept stepping in my way. He was doing a tour of his booth showing off his new line of kitchen products. I never did get back over there to check them out since his booth was always so busy.

Overall I got to meet with some awesome PR reps over the past three days, tried the new Keurig Vue, and learned about a bunch of new products coming out over the next year. I already can’t wait for next year! I’ll leave you with a picture of me and Mr. Clean.

About Paula

Paula Krueger considers herself a "baby "chef, not because she cooks for babies, but because she's still learning how to cook. She started this blog after taking Wilton method classes and at that point was more interested in baking. She's since become more interested in learning to cook as her family has grown. She also covers product reviews and travel as well.
