Lucky Leaf Cherry Bliss Brownies #Review and #Giveaway

Day Four of my Anniversary Giveaways! Sorry I got it up so late today. I was out shopping this morning, then there was church, lunch, visiting with a friend…

Yesterday I had my side of the family over for Christmas. It was a great time. I got to see my brand new Grand-Nephew. I was holding him on my lap while he was sleeping and Charlie asked me again if I want another. Sigh…

Anyway, one of the things I served was Lucky Leaf Cherry Bliss Brownies. They were delicious! Here’s a little about Lucky Leaf:

What do you call a family owned company that has made a name for itself by producing high quality, easy-to-use dessert products?
We call it as American as apple pie. Since 1949 Lucky Leaf has stayed true to its mission
of providing simple, delicious dessert products for families across the United States by constantly improving our products
to meet the changing needs of our customers.

At first, Lucky Leaf was solely dedicated to fresh applesauce. But as the American woman became too busy to make her delicious homemade pies from scratch, we took care of the hard part and started making ready-to-use apple pie filling. In no time, Lucky Leaf Ready-To-Use Apple Pie Filling hit the shelves and those delicious apple pies were back on windowsills across America.

With the success of our apple pie filling, America’s appetite for Lucky Leaf grew. We responded to America’s hunger by expanding our line of flavors. That’s why today you have a number of delicious varieties like our line of Premium Cherry, Apple, Blueberry, Lemon, Red Raspberry, Lite, and Crème in your grocery stores — so you can make whichever type of pie you want quickly and easily.

60 years later, we still say, “Make it easy. Make it delicious. Make it with Lucky Leaf” and we will continue to improve our product to meet the needs of our customers for 60 years to come.

Lucky Leaf sent me four pie fillings and a “Bake Your Heart Out” Recipe Book and asked me to try one of their recipes out. I decided to go with the Cherry Bliss Brownies since I had all the ingredients at home. (The less I have to battle a store right now, the better!) Here’s the recipe:

Cherry Bliss Brownies Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1- 19.5 ounce package brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1- 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 5 T butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 T all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 t vanilla
  • 1- 21 ounce can Lucky Leaf regular or premium cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. In a large bowl prepare brownie mix according to package directions, using oil, eggs and water. Spread batter in a 13" x 9" greased baking pan. Set aside.
  3. Beat cream cheese and butter in large bowl until fluffy. Add sugar. Beat in additional 2 eggs, flour, and vanilla. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture over brownie batter in pan. Use a knife to gently cut through batters to create a marble pattern.
  4. Spoon Lucky Leaf Cherry Pie Filling over top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. (I think it actually took 70 minutes for me.)
  5. Cool completely before serving.

Let me tell you, I am not a huge cherry fan, but this was a GOOD dessert. I really liked the flavors together of the chocolate, cream cheese and cherries. YUM! The cookbook that I got this recipe from has 20 recipes in it. It includes things such as: Cherry-Chocolate Macaroon Pie, Simple and Sweetie Blueberry Cobbler and Cherry Bliss Brownies that are great for holiday parties and sharing with friends. How about making an ordinary winter morning special for your family with Sweet Apple-Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal? Yum!
