Getting Lost in Georgia, how VZ Navigator could have helped!

I just realized I didn’t share my second half of our road trip from last spring when my family and I took a trip to Florida. We tried to plan the way down with a diner’s and drive-in’s type experience, but it didn’t work out well. You can read more about the first half of the trip on Drive the Nation. On the way home we felt like prolonging the vacation as long as we could, because we were having so much fun.

The Many faces of a Roadtrip

On our way out of the Orlando area we decided to go to St Augustine, because my husband and I went their on our first anniversary and we really wanted to experience the town again. By the time we got there, though, most things were getting ready to close. We were able to get on the trolley that took us around town once, but were not able to get off on the stops to explore. We had a good dinner in a whole in the wall restaurant inside of town called Local Heroes Bar and Grill. We then treated the kids to ice cream, watched a live band play for a while and then got back in the car to start heading North. We were trying to get up into Georgia before calling it a night.

I don’t remember where we ended up staying, but it wasn’t pleasant. The next morning we got going and called Grandma and Grandpa, because we got separated from them back in St Augustine. We said we were going to try to get to the Mammoth Cave in KY and meet up to do some sight seeing there. Somewhere along the way we got off course. This is when an app like VZ Navigator would have helped. We ended up driving through some weird places in Georgia. We thought it was pretty funny when we saw this sign:

We had a good laugh the rest of the trip about that being a High Tech Corridor! We did eventually make our way back to a highway. By the time we got to Mammoth Caves, though, we couldn’t fit a tour in. The sweet thing, though, was that we accidentally found where my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law had a picnic lunch on their honeymoon.

If you don’t want to get off course like we did, you can install Verizon’s VZ Navigator on any smart phone. Verizon is offering a 30-day free trial for smartphones so that you can try out VZ Navigator for yourself. If you like it, it is only $2 a month after the trial expires. VZ Navigator is a navigation app that offers features like lane guidance, alternate route selector, and reliable real-time traffic. VZ Navigator also has natural language voice guidance, which uses traffic lights and number of streets instead of feet or meters, to provide a safer driving experience. For more information about VZ Navigator, please visit: http://www.vznavigator.com.

That corridor sure doesn’t LOOK High Tech! 😉 I will definitely have to download the VZ Navigator before our road trip!
