If you’ve been meaning to get to Brookfield Zoo Chicago this fall, this is your weekend. Dinos! and Boo! at the Zoo both wrap up on Sunday, October 25 — and you can do both in one trip, which makes it the perfect excuse for one more fall family day before the costumes get packed away.
One Last Jurassic Adventure

Take one last adventure before these larger-than-life creatures go extinct… again! All season long, families have been journeying through the Zoo among prehistoric creatures, and the final days are here. Wander through a massive dinosaur rib-cage tunnel, dig for fossils, climb around the displays, and snap some dino-mite photos. There’s even a spooky dinosaur skeleton photo op for Halloween week, which might be my favorite detail of the whole thing. If your kids are anything like mine, the fossil dig alone is worth the trip — future paleontologists take that job very seriously.
Boo! at the Zoo’s Final Weekend

Spend a fang-tastic fall day at Boo! at the Zoo! Dress up in costume, trick-or-treat around the Zoo, and enjoy all the family-friendly Halloween fun. During this final weekend, guests can also join the costume parade, bounce in the free Inflate-a-Boo area, decorate pumpkins, and more.
Trick-or-treating runs 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the whole celebration runs 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A quick mom tip: if your kids plan to bounce in the inflatables, have them wear or bring socks — it’s a small thing that saves a lot of disappointment at the door.
The Best Part
Both events — and their accompanying experiences — are included with Zoo admission and free for Zoo members. No separate tickets, no add-ons. Just show up in costume and enjoy. That’s a rare thing these days, and it makes this an easy yes for a big family day out.
You can check the full activities schedule on the Brookfield Zoo Chicago website.
Don’t let these two go extinct without you — Sunday, October 25 is the last day!
