Great Ways To Manage On A Busy Mom Day

When you’re a mom, all of your days are busy. However, some manage to be busier than others. And on those days when you’ve got a pile of work, a messy house, and plenty of parenting still to do, looking down the schedule can make it feel like you’ve run out of time and energy already!

And if you’ve found that recent days have been busier than others, maybe because there’s a big work project to do or the kids are home from school for the summer, we’ve got some tips for you. When it feels like time itself is against you, make sure you use tricks like these to keep up with it.

Have a Good Breakfast

A good breakfast is always going to be the best start to the day. On those days when you’ve got a mountain of work to climb, it’s more crucial than ever! And if making time for a good breakfast means getting up slightly earlier, so be it.

A protein heavy breakfast would be better than a carb focused one, but a bowl of oats or muesli still has its benefits! Plus, if you like coffee or orange juice, you can mix in some kratom powder to put a bit more energy in your step. Such a supplement is entirely natural, and can give you that extra bit of motivation for a parent’s evening or a long office meeting.

Use Headphones to Make Work Go Faster

Do you like listening to music? If so, it might be worth it to invest in a good pair of noise cancelling headphones and plug them in whenever you’ve got a lot to do. Sure, if the kids are around it’s best to keep them out – you’ll never know what mischief they’re getting up to otherwise – but this is good for sole housekeeping or when you’re in the workplace.

Music helps us to keep to a rhythm. When we’ve got some of our favorite tunes playing away in our ears, it helps us reach into our own little worlds and brings out the best in our motivation. And if you can’t quite find the right headspace for getting a spreadsheet completed, or for answering all those emails before your lunch break, a quiet bit of positive background noise goes a long way.

Don’t Work Any More Hours Than Expected

This is an important boundary to set. If your boss wants you to do overtime for the 5th time this week, say no. Put your foot down, get home on time, and do something you love. You deserve to relax when it’s been a busy day!

Plan Something Novel for the Kids to Do

If you need a bit of peace and quiet after the kids have come home from school, plan something fun and unusual for them to get on with. Maybe set up a finger painting station and tell them to invent their own animals? Or tape some paper together and place it on the floor, then hand over crayons and paints and glitter and ask them to work as a team to make the best landscape or night sky?

As long as it’s a bit unusual for the schedule, but is still a lot of fun, it’s going to keep them busy! And the more they use their imagination, the more they’re going to rely on it at times when they’re a bit bored and you’re a bit busy. Encourage this sense of creative independence now and you’ll forever be able to rely on it.

Don’t Do it All Alone

You’re a mom, and the demands of being so make you a super powered person. But you can’t be everywhere at once, and you can’t do everything when you’ve only got yourself to rely on. So when the busiest of busy days strike, don’t let yourself do it all alone.

Mom guilt can play on you heavily in these moments, but delegating and asking for help are never bad ideas. Whether you’ve got a partner to help out or you’ve got parents who are always willing to babysit, get them involved and don’t be the one to shoulder all the burden.

Those super busy mom days are a killer! But when you’ve got one to get through, don’t lose your head! Make sure you look after yourself, even when you’ve only got a couple minutes of free time, and set up some boundaries that’ll help you clear your timetable a little.
