NetflixThat’s how it always starts! My husband and I decide we need to relax and eat dinner in front of the tv. We say “let’s watch a movie” and start scrolling through the carousel on Netflix. It goes a little something like this:

Charlie: Is there any new episodes of anything we watch?

Me: Yes, Orange is the New Black

Charlie: Eh, not right now.

Me: Oh look, there’s Transformers Age of Extinction, we’re really far behind on Transformers, though, aren’t we?

Charlie: I don’t even remember what the first one was about. Expendables 3 looks good.

Me: I haven’t seen #1.

rockyCharlie: I haven’t seen 1 or 2, but it still looks good. Oh! They have Rocky!! Yay! They have Rocky!

Me: You can watch that on your own time. You’ve seen Rocky before, haven’t you?

Charlie: You know I wasn’t allowed to watch movies like that when I was younger.

Me: Fine, we’ll watch Rocky, but don’t be offended if I sit here and read a book while you watch.

In the meantime I had finished eating my food 10 minutes into the conversation of what to watch!

Of course as soon as Rocky was over I threw on Alias for a rest of the day marathon.

Why is it the kids have no problems with picking a movie to watch? They were so excited to see Penguins of Madagascar: the movie and Dragons: Race to the Edge.

Do you and your spouse have issues picking a movie to watch together? I generally watch a TV series now, from start to end instead of a movie. I am interested in movies that I’ve read the books while my husband likes to watch war movies and documentaries.

Note: This post is sponsored by Netflix as I am a member of their #StreamTeam. All opinions are my own.
