Easy Off Fume Free

I don’t know about you, but I’m a messy “chef”. When I cook or bake, my kitchen turns into a nightmare. I LOVE to cook and bake but HATE the cleanup! If I know I’m having a party and have to cook for it I either don’t get dressed into what I want people to see me in or I make sure to wear an apron, because my clothes become a MESS! I realized yesterday that I haven’t even cleaned my oven since we moved into our house. Well I did do a self-clean cycle once, but then never cleaned out the mess on the bottom. Sigh! Clean up is not my strong point.

Before Easy Off

That’s an embarrassing picture to share. My oven was disgusting, seriously!! I decided I’d give EASY-OFF® Fume Free Oven Cleaner a try in my oven. There are two choices that you can buy: EASY-OFF® Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner and EASY-OFF® Fume Free Oven Cleaner. I chose the Fume Free since I am pregnant. While spraying the oven I did cover my mouth and nose just to be on the safe side and had on the over the stove hood fan on high. Make sure you have your kitchen well ventilated while using EASY-OFF®. The bottle says to let the cleaner soak into your oven from 2 hours to overnight for heavily soiled ovens. Mine could have probably sat overnight, but I had to make dinner for my family. Mine sat for probably four hours, because I sprayed it, took a nap, then got some stuff done before getting back to the oven.

After Easy Off

I actually didn’t have to work really hard at wiping things down. I used hot water and a sponge that has the scrubby and soft side on it. You can see there were a few spots that didn’t come clean and for some reason the window still looks disgusting. It’s not easy to stay on your knees while pregnant to scrub, nor is it easy to get your body in a position to get in there and clean! I think I did a pretty good job overall, though. The inside of the oven and the racks definitely look a TON better. After baby comes and I’m up and moving around again I’ll probably give it a better scrub. The nice thing, though, was that it really wasn’t hard to get the mess off after leaving the EASY-OFF® Fume Free Oven Cleaner in the oven for a few hours. I definitely don’t fear the clean up after one of my messy baking escapades anymore!

Easy-Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner is specially formulated to penetrate tough baked-on grease and food spills. Effectively cleans warm or cold ovens in as little as 5 minutes! Easy-Off Fume Free Oven Cleaner penetrates tough baked-on oven grease to effectively clean with no nasty fumes. Leaves your oven with a fresh, lemon scent.  Can also be used for daily spot cleaning.

You can find EASY-OFF® at Wal-Mart or your local grocery store. I’m glad that my oven is mostly clean and ready for the holiday rush now! Are you a messy chef like me? Do you fear the cleanup?

I especially like the fume free option! That would be very helpful when it’s too cold to keep the windows open during a cleaning.

I tried that awful PowerHouse brand Easy Off knock-off from the Dollar Tree and it was so smelly I had to air out my entire house. I should know better than to use anything but Easy Off Fume Free…I really love the stuff. It works great and doesn’t ruin my entire house with its stank! haha.
