Cherry Crisp

When we bought our house, we inherited two cherry treas in the backyard. This is our third year here, but the first time we’ve actually done anything with the cherries. The kids were eating them last year, even though they aren’t the type you want to just pop in your mouth. We have the sour, baking and cooking type cherries growing. I have no idea what they’re called. We went to my friend Kim’s house for the 4th of July and needed to bring a dish to pass. Since the kids had picked a bunch of cherries with my friend Dee in the backyard, I figured I’d try to make a cherry crisp. I know that Kim tends to try to stay Gluten Free, so I made it that way for her.  Kim took the pictures for this post with her fancy new camera. Love them!

This looks great and a recipe I would tr. I adore fresh cherries and I wonder how it would work with Bings rather than tart?
