It has been a rough cold season around here. It feels like every single cold and stomach flu that has gone around has hit our house. Poor Monkey is sick AGAIN! Each of the kids has gone through a round of bronchitis since going back to school and the two older kids have each had at least one case of the stomach flu. Yesterday we were at a funeral and found that Monkey’s fever came back so my Mother in Law ran to the closest drug store to get some fever reducer for her. I gave it to her and she mentioned how sweet it was so I decided to look to see what they use to sweeten it. I was mad to find out that they use sucralose in the medicines and I was hoping that Little Remedies didn’t follow suit. Unfortunately, Little Remedies also has sucralose as the sweetener in the medications. The good things about Little Remedies, though, that I really like, are that there are no dyes, parabens, or gluten in their Pain and fever relief! I have a friend who has had to go gluten free for her kids and it would be horrible for her to be trying to make her kids feel better and to actually make them feel worse by putting a bunch of gluten back into their little bodies!
Along with Monkey’s fever, she’s also coughing like mad. I want to go to the store tonight and get her some Little Remedies Honey Elixir. I like that it calms fiery throats, that it is a natural product: Safe for toddlers (12 months and older), and has No saccharin, dyes or gluten.I’m hoping that this will help calm Monkey’s cough while she’s trying to sleep because she’s not wanting to get up in the morning from not sleeping well at night. I’m also hoping that this is the last cold our household gets for a long time. I’ve been battling a sinus infection for over a month that just won’t quit.
Do you use any natural or home made remedies for coughs and colds? I’d love your ideas! Also, if you’ve tried Little Remedies, what are your thoughts on the products?
Note: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Little Remedies. I received product samples as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

That honey elixir looks like something I’d use! I love that the fever reducer doesn’t have gluten, but I do wish they’d stop using sucralose!

We’ve had a pretty mellow season, in general, but my youngest has been hit with everything from mono to whooping cough.

I really wish these products would stop using sucralose and other sweeteners. Why can’t they use honey?
As for natural remedies, we like peppermint tea, honey and lemon
