Wow, where did this week go?! I should have been working hard to train for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® walk and I didn’t make it to the gym once. Last weekend, though, at Bloggers on Bourbon I think I walked near 30 miles that weekend! I know for a fact that I walked near 5 miles just from Harrah’s casino, through the ghost tour and back to the hotel. (I was trying to track the walk on my phone. The battery died at over 4 miles.) That was just one fraction of the weekend! There was still airport walking, dancing, walking at the plantation, shopping in the French Market, etc.

I found out some news this week. My friend, Benah (rhymes with Dana), has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I am now dedicating my walk to her. I want to find a cure for her. She has two small children and an awesome husband. The world can not afford to lose Benah! She is a beautiful woman inside and out and a fighter. She will kick cancer’s butt! If you would like to show some support for Benah, you can find her on twitter.

I can not believe that my walk is 6 days away!! This week I am going to do my best to make it to the gym every day. I also have to pack for myself for the walk, pack my whole family for the Wisconsin Dells, pack myself for the Dells and make a cake for Thursday.

Hope everyone else is doing well on their training! Right now Tesa Nicolanti is walking the 3-Day for the Cure® walk in Cleveland. Head over and tell her you support her!

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. I know you’re walking in the 3-Day probably means a lot to her and that’s wonderful that you are dedicating your walk to her. Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers her way.

Good luck with everything you have to do before the walk! The 3-Day might seem like a vacation for you before your vacation! 🙂
