This is my second time taking part in Frugal Friday. It is put on by Life as Mom. She wants us to share a tip a week about what keeps us staying in the Black. Today she is featuring how to make your own instant oatmeal. I am definitely going to give this a try because, like her, we go through way too much in one meal!
Please hop over to Life as Mom to check out more Frugal Friday posts!
I did my first real Target shop this week. I think I did pretty well. I got 5 packages of cookies, 3 bottles of body wash, 2-4 pks of light bulbs, 2 electric toothbrushes, 4 bars of soap, 2 boxes of BandAids, 2 deodorants, 1 travel bottle of ReNu (for a friend) and 1 bottle of baby shampoo.
I paid $37.74 out of pocket and am getting a $15 rebate from Olay. Brings the total down to $22.74! I saved $40.10 after the rebate, bringing my savings to 63.81%
Shelf price $24.41
Mfg Coupons (Cats & RR) -$12
Here is trip #2. I stocked up on fruit snacks big time! I did two of the “get $10 back” deals. I did all this shopping in 3 transactions. I’m just going to give you the bottom line, though.
Preferred Savings -$40.65
Mfg Coupons (and Cat) -$51.29
Total $52.37 out of pocket.! (Plus I received a $13.50 in Cats for a future purchase)
At the end of this week I still have $9 in CVS ECB and $13.50 in Jewel Catalinas to start next week out right! Total money out of pocket for all shown up there: $83.04! My normal grocery bill is around $125 a week.
Have a Frugal week!
