I did 3 different transactions.

Trans #1

$26.83 worth of groceries. Spent $13.71 OOP (used 1-.75 coupon, rest of savings preferred card) Got $12.50 back in Your Bucks Catalinas 25% Savings! (not counting the catalinas for the future purchases)

Trans #2

$ 139.84 worth of groceries. Spent $58.15 OOP (used $47.80 in coupons, $33.89 preferred savings) Got $35.50 back in Catalinas

I used all of my Walgreen’s catalinas to take $19 off of trans#2 and $10.50 of the Your Bucks from Trans #1

58.42% Savings! (not counting the catalinas for the future purchases)

Trans #3

$19.81 worth of groceries. Spent $.74 OOP (used $19 in coupons, $1.10 preferred savings) Got $6.00 back in Your Bucks Catalinas. I also have a $5 rebate coming back from Jennie-O for the turkey breasts. 115.88% Savings! I basically made $4.26 to take home all these items!!

Spent $67.60!! out of pocket. I saved $117.35 in sales and coupons and rebates! 63.45% Savings!

So at the end of the day I still have $3 Meijer Bucks, $7 CVS ECB and $41.50 in Jewel Catalinas left to start off next week!

In the past week I spent $269.07 and saved $406.01. A savings rate of 60.14%!

Free Forum Friday- Pardon My Dust

I’ve decided to change the layout of my blog. I LOVE the old blog and I’m going to do my best to get this new template to look like the old one. It’ll be slow going but I really want to make it happen. Part of the reason I want the change is that I have found the perfect blog conference for me and it’s now time to kick it up a notch and look for advertisers and sponsors. I so so badly want to go to Camp Blogaway. It’s a conference especially for food and recipe bloggers. It’s held in the San Bernardino Mountains of California at an actual campground. Totally my style! I LOVED camping while younger. We’ll stay in cabins and there will be campfires and hikes. I need to make this happen for me and for YOU. I want to learn how to make this blog be the best it can be! I am loving blogging and want to make it my job. I found out about this conference by taking part in a twitter party called #conferencenewbie. It was a great party held by @unexperiencedmom. She started a new website called Blog Conference Newbie. It talks about choosing the right blogging conference for you, what to do once there, how to afford to get there, and more. It’s a great site!

Blog the Weight Away – Weigh In Wednesday Feb 24

It was not a good week. I was surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning! I only made it to the gym once due to the kids’ stomach issues and I had book club Friday, couponing class and dinner at a friend’s Sat. Then Sunday morning Cadence slammed her head into my nose. I had a headache from 7am Sunday morning until this afternoon (Wednesday.) Back to the gym tomorrow for my Biggest Loser workout. I will still have to fit in 2 more workouts this week. EEK! I haven’t been journaling my food very well, either. I lost track around Friday sometime. Moving on to the next week. I WILL do better!

This week’s results:

Last Week’s Weight 192- Current Weight 191= Down 1 lb!

Start Weight 198- Current Weight 191= Down 7 lbs total!

(I know my ticker says more weight loss than it does above. My ticker started after I had David. So I’ve lost 29 lbs in 13 months.)

Today I hit up two different Walgreens to do the razor, Excedrin and Right Guard deals again.

Excedrin Migraine $2.50-$2.50 mf= FREE!

I paid $8.57 out of pocket but I have $4 RR for the next time I go back. I also saved $19.88 in sales and coupons alone! 69.88% Savings!

Free Olay Body Wash with purchase of Venus Embrace $5.29-$5.29= FREE!

I used the $3 catalina from transaction #1.

I paid $8.32 out of pocket but I have $3 Catalina for the next transaction. I also saved $33.66 in sales and coupons alone! 80.18% Savings!

So at the end of the day I still have $3 Meijer Bucks, $7 CVS ECB and $19 Walgreen’s RR left to start off next week! In the past two days I spent $133.87 and saved $171.31. A savings rate of 56.13%!

Taste Test Tuesday- Hazelnut (or fruit filled) Crescent Rolls

Better late than never! I normally have my posts done so they can post at 6 am in the morning. I’ve been consumed by couponing and haven’t focused on my blog in a few days. (hiding now)

Hazelnut Crescent Rolls

1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls

1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread, warmed

1/3 cup chocolate-covered English toffee bits

Confectioners’ Sugar

Unroll crescent roll dough; separate into triangles. Spread each with 1 Tbsp. hazelnut spread; sprinkle with toffee bits. Roll up from the wide end and place pointed side down 2 in apart on greased baking sheets. Curve ends to form crescents.
Bake at 375 for 11-13 minutes or until lightly browned. Dust with confectioners’ sugar. Yield: 8 servings

(Instead of hazelnut spread you can use canned pie filling. )

In attempt to try to keep the fruit filling in, I folded the sides in to make a pocket instead of a crescent roll.
