DeskEver since I found out I was pregnant with #5 about 14 weeks ago I completely lost all focus in life. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally excited about the baby and have been since we found out. I just can’t focus on anything besides whatever is immediately going on. I haven’t been able to write or come up with new ideas. I went away to San Diego for a weekend for our group mastermind with Nick Unsworth and was really fired up to move forward on our business while I was there, but once I got home… nothing. All I’ve been wanting to do is sleep or get ready for the fall with homeschooling.

Well, this past weekend, my friend Samantha talked me into going to the SoFabU On the Road in Chicago conference. I went and took that day to recharge, enjoy some friendships I’ve let slip, and try go get myself back into the blogging mindset. You may have noticed, but this is my 4th NON-sponsored post this week. WOO!! I can’t even remember the last time I wrote a non-sponsored post. I’m starting to get inspired again and it feels good.

Yesterday I dropped my three older kids off at VBS and put BabyQ down for nap. I sat with the cat for a little while because he jumped on my lap, but I was antsy. I knew I wanted to get up and make a space for me. I got into my room and rearranged a little bit of furniture. (No worries, nothing weighs more than 30 pounds that I moved.) I got my little desk set back up, which has been pushed aside and used for a piling place since the baby was born. I now have a place to “escape” but still be on the main floor of the house with the kids. I can sit down to quickly pay bills, pop out a blog post, or whatever, in my own space.

I’ve been doing better about delegating chores to the kids and they’re even stepping up and doing them without being asked now! This morning after breakfast, Buddy went into the kitchen and loaded the dishwasher by himself, without being asked. It was nice! The house has been picked up, dishes washed, and floors vacuumed almost every day lately. It’s such a relief to wake up to clean house! We’ve even gotten back into reading daily devotionals and learning about a Saint a day. (A slow way to ease them back into school in the fall.)

It feels so good to be getting back in a groove. I’m just hoping it sticks around!

About Paula

Paula Krueger considers herself a "baby "chef, not because she cooks for babies, but because she's still learning how to cook. She started this blog after taking Wilton method classes and at that point was more interested in baking. She's since become more interested in learning to cook as her family has grown. She also covers product reviews and travel as well.

I am still looking for mine!!! 🙁 But I’m trying to cut myself some slack and not feel too guilty about it but I really miss seeing my blogging buddies in person but there’s not much that I can do to change that for now!!
