One thing I love about Netflix is their original series that they do. Our family has always been big Veggie Tales fans. We love the God lessons they have while being witty and fun! Now Netflix has brought Veggie Tales to a new generation of kids with Veggie Tales in the House. The Veggies look a little different and I miss the normal theme song, but I bet kids will love this! The show is face paced to keep the kids interested and there is still a silly song in the show! I like the lessons learned and there are still scripture readings in the show. It’s the same Veggie Tales, but revamped to catch the interest of a newer generation.
I’ve only watched episode 1, but I love how it’s tackling things that kids are interested in, like owning a dog and getting along with each other. In the first half Larry and Laura are given a job at Pa Grape’s store to earn money for puppy supplies and it turns out they can’t really live up to the responsibility of a puppy. Pa gives them his guppies and tells them if they can take care of guppies that some day they may be ready to take care of puppies. The scripture reading to go along with it was:
Luke 16:10- Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. And whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
The second half of the show all the Veggies are avoiding each other because they can’t cooperate and get along. They all were hiding from each other in Pa Grape’s store and eventually Pa closed the store and they all got locked in. They each were trying to occupy themselves or not working together to get out of the store. They learn they must work together to get out of the store and realize it’s better when you work together. The scripture for the second half was from:
Ecclesiastes- Two are better than one for they have a big reward for their work. For if they fall, one will lift up the other.
While the show is different than I’m used to, I still like it! I also like the the original creators still have a hand in the show. The series just started streaming for Thanksgiving. Make sure you check it out and remember:
God made you special, and he loves you very much!
