Note: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for TruGreen. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
Early this summer TruGreen visited my house to see if we’d like to use this service. My husband talked to the salesman and decided it was the right route to take, especially since I had found grubs in my garden. I had wonderful intentions of taking pictures of my pretty yard to write this post, but came home from vacation to brown grass because we seem to be having a drought in our area. The little creek that runs through our neighborhood was bone dry. Below is an example of a yard that uses TruGreen.
Besides the grubs, our lawn has dead spots that the TruGreen team is trying to take care of. There are many tips included in the videos on the TruGreen YouTube channel. I didn’t know that you don’t want your lawn to be wet overnight, if possible, because it promotes the growth of lawn grubs. Who knew?! The video below talks about knowing the kind of lawn you have and types of brown spots.
Our lawn still isn’t 100% taken care of from using TruGreen, but we’ve only had 3 treatments so far. We are hoping that with the continued treatments through the fall we will have a beautiful yard next summer. If you’d like to learn more about using TruGreen for yourself, you can visit their website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and watch a lot of educational videos on their YouTube channel. There is also a K-5 educational resource for parents and teachers at My Botanic Planet. Do you have any problem spots in your yard? What are you doing to take care of them?

I had no idea that a wet over-night lawn promoted the growth of grubs! I guess I need to listen to that YouTube channel and see how to prevent your yard from being wet overnight.
