Note: I was given a gift card to do my shopping and one for a giveaway, in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.Staples

This year I decided I was going to go to Staples to do all my back to school shopping. I didn’t want to run around to a million places to “get the best deal.” Staples had some pretty good deals the week I went, so I decided that I’d just do one stop shopping and get it done. Staples does a new deal every week on school supplies, featuring items for .01 and up. When we went we got our rulers for .50 each, 2 pocket folders with prongs for .01 each, 3-pack of erasers for .50 each and a pencil case for .50. Overall I got some really good deals. I ended up spending $49.38 on all school supplies for two kids.

First Grade School Supplies from Staples

For first grade I needed:

1 Dozen #2 Pencils , 2 Large Pink Erasers, 1 Scissors (5” rounded tip), 8 Glue Sticks, 4 Boxes Crayola Crayons (24 count), 1 Box Markers (washable), 8 Two Pocket Folders with prongs (red, blue, green & yellow), 2 Boxes Facial Tissue, 2 Rolls Paper Towels, 1 Container Disinfectant Wipes, 1 Box Ziptop Bags – Quart size (girls only), 1 Ruler (with inches & centimeters), 1 Supply Box (5”x8”), 4 Dry Erase Markers (any color).

I got everything at Staples except for the facial tissue, paper towels, and ziptop bags for her.

3rd Grade School Supplies from Staples

For third grade I needed:

3 Dozen #2 Pencils ,1 Large Pink Eraser, 1 Scissors (pointed tip), 1 Box Crayola Crayons (24 count), 1 Box Markers (classic 8 washable), 2 Glue Sticks, 8 Two Pocket Folders with prongs (red, blue, green & yellow), 2 Boxes Facial Tissue, 1 Container Disinfectant Wipes, 4 Spiral Notebooks (wide ruled) (red, blue, green & yellow), 1 Box Ziptop Bags – Gallon size (boys only), 2 Packages Notebook Paper (wide ruled), 1 Ruler (with inches & centimeters), 1 Supply Box (5”x8”), 4 Dry Erase Markers (black and blue), 1 Dry Erase Eraser or Sock, 2 Highlighters (yellow).

Those are a LOT of supplies. Once again, for Buddy I didn’t get any facial tissue, disinfectant wipes or ziptop bags for him at Staples. I also didn’t get a new supply box or dry erase eraser since he already had those from last year.

Staples has some really cool deals for your back to school shopping as well. There is a back to school savings pass that you can buy for $10 and it will give you 15% off of all your school supplies. They also have a binder recycle program where you can bring in any old binder, no matter the condition, and they will give you a $2 coupon off your next binder. There is also an Reward A Classroom program where the teacher can sign up the class to get:

  • 2% back in rewards on everything, excluding postage, phone/gift cards and savings passes
  • 5% back in rewards on every Copy & Print purchase

Teachers can earn up to $50 from as many as 40 parents each year. That’s as much as $2,000 back in rewards every year.

How would you like a $25 gift card to shop at Staples for your back to school needs? Just fill out the rafflecopter below.
