First Day of School

I can’t believe the kids go back to school in 24 days! Between now and then I have a conference to go to, cub scout training/camping for a weekend, sister’s-in-law baby shower, and a week at Wisconsin Dells. That’s a lot of stuff to do while getting ready for school. I just have to be sure I’m ultra prepared, because I don’t want to have any kind of mishaps when it comes to back to school time! Seeing that we won’t be around for “Back to School” day (where the kids find out their teachers) I have already turned in all forms and money to the school and talked to the Principal about the kids’ teachers.

One of the things I don’t like about our school is for the most part the kids do not get to keep all their own supplies. They are given a list of supplies to bring and they’re thrown into a community classroom pot. One thing I’d like to avoid, though, is having my kids have the same personal supplies that other kids have. I don’t want my daughter to have the same Hello Kitty backpack as her best friend or my son to have the same Avengers backpack. I really need to be sure we’re ready soon, though, because we go back to school the day after our vacation.

Some of the steps I’m going to use to be ready:

  1. Take the kids shopping with their back to school lists THIS WEEK.
  2. Label whatever items we the kids get to keep with labels such as the ones from Bright Star Kids.
  3. Have the kids lay out whatever clothes they want to wear to school before we leave on vacation.
  4. Make sure my camera battery is charged and I have an SD card in my camera so I can take the first day of school photo.

Put a label on it! Kick off the school year right and prevent unnecessary mishaps. Reply below for $5 off your Bright Star Kids order.
