Note: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Chicco and I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Chicco LogoEver since having my first child, car seat safety became very important to me. It’s so hard to know what to do to keep your baby safe when it comes to car seats. Some moms don’t even know the importance of keeping their baby rear facing as long as possible and in the right seat for the right amount of time.

Car Seat Stages

My son has gotten picked on because he’s still in a booster at almost 8. It’s more important to me to see my son safe than to worry about if one of his friends picks on him. The girl that picked on him is 6 months older and heavier than him, so she’s able to be out of her car seat now.

I don’t have any babies left, YET, but when I do, I think I want to get the new Chicco NextFit Convertible Car Seat. I like that The NextFit grows with your baby, easily adjusting to fit baby as he or she grows from infant to preschooler (from 5 to 65 lbs).

  • The harness straps do not require rethreading and adjust in height AND width in connection with the position of the headrest
  • The innovative chest clip features two positions to fit the torso of smaller and larger children

NextFit MystiqueI love how easy it looks like this car seat is to install:

  • Simply: No need for rolled towels or tubes to position your convertible car seat correctly in your car! The NextFit’s ReclineSure™ 9-position Leveling System adjusts with one hand for an accurate fit in a wider range of vehicles and vehicle seats
  • Accurately:  Just like the KeyFit, the Chicco NextFit takes the guesswork out of installing the seat thanks to the two RideRight™ bubble levels which clearly indicate the correct seat angle in both rear and forward-facing modes.
  • Securely: Parents of any size or strength can easily install the NextFit correctly with the SuperCinch™ LATCH tightener, which uses force-multiplying technology to help achieve a tight and secure fit – no strong muscles required.

What do you look for in a car seat? What kind have you used for your child(ren)? I hope to be on the lookout for a new car seat soon!

About Paula

Paula Krueger considers herself a "baby "chef, not because she cooks for babies, but because she's still learning how to cook. She started this blog after taking Wilton method classes and at that point was more interested in baking. She's since become more interested in learning to cook as her family has grown. She also covers product reviews and travel as well.

    What a great carseat!

J is still in a booster seat, too. He just doesn’t weigh enough to get out of it yet.

Looks like a great seat! I think I have to buy one more when the baby is 3. Reannon still sits in a belt back booster and is 9, she says it is more comfortable than a seat!
