This is a great quick meal. You can prep this while making another recipe. I was making tacos on shopping night and while I was browning the meat I quickly threw this together, wrapped it in aluminum foil and threw it in the freezer until I was ready to use it on Saturday. I loved this because of how simple and how yummy it was! This was another one of those recipes I found while browsing Pinterest. It comes from 5Dinners1Hour. There are so many variations you can do with this! I’m going to share the variation I did. My husband said I didn’t use enough meat or cheese, so next time I’ll use more. I only used 6 slices of each meat and cheese. I also plan to try to make this bread to use for this recipe some time.

Quick Stuffed Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of round sourdough bread
  • 1/2-1 lb roast beef
  • 6-12 slices of provolone cheese
  • beef broth

Instructions

  1. Slice sourdough bread without slicing all the way through and place slices of meat and cheese in bread.
  2. Wrap in aluminum foil and place in freezer if you're not using right away.
  3. Place in 400 degree oven for 20 mins if thawed or 1 hr (if frozen) or until heated through and cheese is melted.
  4. (You can also stick this in your crockpot first thing in the morning for an easy lunch. I didn't try this so I don't know how the bread comes out. I may try it this way next week.)
  5. Serve bread with beef broth to dip.

Yup, that was actually the next way I was thinking of making it, with pizza sauce to dip in.

Oh this looks like something my kids would love. Pinning this and going to serve it for dinner with a quick salad or veggie platter. 🙂
