A few weeks ago we went to Six Flags with Chicagonista and had a blast. I wanted to let you know about it because if you’re like me, you may think there’s nothing there for little ones to do. Let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. I was nervous going, because my husband had to work and I had all three small kids by myself. They are 6, 4, and 2 and none of them are especially tall.
When we got there we started off the day on the carousel which is nice because all the kids are big enough to ride alone. We then headed over to the picnic area to have lunch with my Chicagonista friends and a bunch of other local bloggers who are awesome to hang out with. At lunch we got to hear about the benefits of using the Discover card. If you use it at Six Flags you automatically get a 5% discount taken off of whatever you buy plus you currently get 5% cash back bonus on all theme park purchases with your Discover. It was a fun picnic and it was great to connect with my friends like MJ, Lisa, Maria, and Alicia.
After lunch, my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and all her kids came to meet us at the park for some fun. We hit the balloon ride and then headed over to Camp Cartoon where the kids had a blast jumping from one ride to the next with most not needing an adult. (Which is great because I get motion sickness now, yuck!) They all rode the roller coaster there and Little Man loved it. He was ready to go again. After that we hit Kidzopolis where, once again, the kids had a blast. They did need me to ride with most in this area, but we all had fun. It was so great having two kids’ areas in the park along with other rides tucked in all over the place for them to get on with an adult. Don’t forget that there is also the water park with plenty to do. We never did make it over there because I was just shot by the time 7pm rolled around. We left the park at 8pm that night and my kids can not wait to go back.
I absolutely love this picture that Lisa took of Monkey playing in the rain. Luckily, while it did rain, it was not a bad rain that kept rides from closing and it kept everything nice and cool. It was a perfect day for the theme park. I’m going to include a few more pictures for you to check out:
