Munch Monday

This will be a new feature every Monday. I want to share with you one Bento style lunch that I made the week before. I’m calling it “Munch” Time Monday because my oldest, Buddy, calls lunch: Munch. 🙂

This past weekend we went to see Thomas the Train at Day Out with Thomas and I made a transportation inspired lunch. This is my first Bento styled lunch, so I have some room to grow.

I only have two egg molds right now so Monkey got a fish and Little Man just got an egg. I figured she didn’t really care about the train cheese so I made her horses. The rolls are peanut butter and jelly on flattened bread rolled up and cut.

I had a lot of fun making these lunches and can’t wait to share more with you as I keep going.

Ooh, I can’t wait to see more of your bento creations! I am slightly obsessed with bento boxes. I wish they were around when I was a kid! 🙂

Now that school is back in session I am making lunches every day too. I can’t wait to see what you come up with. I am always in the market for new ideas. Although I don’t really do bento’s – I like to make my kids smile and am willing to do cute shapes and stuff. What is an egg mold? Do they hard boil eggs into shapes?

I bought the egg molds on Amazon.com. You actually have to boil the egg first and peel it while hot and then stick the egg in the mold and let it cool in the fridge.

You should put your Amazon affiliate link up with all of the fun finds (like the egg mold). I’ve never seen those before!

Oh oops, just saw your comment about Amazon affiliates. Sorry 🙁

Love it! What did you use to cut the cheese? I really need to get onto Amazon and order some bento supplies. I’m a slacker.

I bought these off of amazon:
      http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001716OYM

      http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00076TPN0

Wish I could still use affiliates on amazon…. makes me mad

I keep meaning to get those egg molds. Love them! I love Bento Boxes too. I haven’t done anything super creative with them yet, but I like how they “force” you to make sure you put things in from a few different food groups to make a healthy meal.

Yes, I love being forced to put the right types of food in his lunch instead of cheetos and fruit snacks all the time.
