Paula @ Frosted Fingers, Special K, Chicago, Union StationWhat will YOU Gain when you lose weight this year? I hope to gain my self-confidence back! I remember as I was losing weight before getting pregnant with Buddy that I kept getting more confident with myself. I wanted to become a Weight Watchers leader when I hit goal and wanted to become a personal trainer. I then got pregnant and have been battling the ups and downs since then.

Mama's Money Savers, My Chicago Mommy, Frosted Fingers, Special K, Resolutions, Chicago, Union StationLast Tuesday I was able to join Cher, Maria, Vanessa, and Erin at the Chicago Union Station for Special K‘s Resolution event. I posted about the event before I went, here. They had a big scale set up, a bank of computers and a camera man to take your picture with a box of Special K Red Berries. The computers were there so you can sign up for the Special K Challenge.

Take the Special K Challenge and lose up to 6 pounds in 2 weeks. find out  what you’ll gain when you lose those pounds- things like self-esteem, confidence, and maybe even your old jean size.

They also have a complimentary mobile application called myPlan, which includes helpful tips, shopping lists and personalized weight-management plans for use on the go. You can track your progress and earn “achievements” that you can share with friends on Facebook.

I didn’t sign up for the Special K Challenge myself, because I’m on Weight Watchers and don’t need another program to follow or track. I did try my box of Red Berries the next morning and actually really liked the cereal. I’m not a big strawberry or non frosted flakes style cereal eater.

I had a really good time at Union Square and hope that those in Los Angeles can make it out to The Grove, tomorrow, Jan 18, 2011. You’ll get to step on the big scale and see what word will motivate you on your weight loss journey. It’s fun to see the excitement of those around you. There was a lady waiting in line that was SO upbeat and happy. She got her word and was jumping up and down and doing a little dance. Her enthusiasm was definitely catching! Unfortunately I got no video at the event. I was kind of mentally preoccupied since on the way there I almost slid my car into a lamp post due to the heavy snow storm. Luckily a curb stopped me! My van bounced off the curb and I was able to stop the slide. I ended up denting a rim and throwing my steering all out of whack, though! All I can say is I was so glad to be alive by the time I got downtown. I saw that lamp post coming at me in slow motion and all I could do was scream. I could not get the car to pull out of the slide.  Anyway, if you’re in the LA area, please go out and visit the Special K event tomorrow!

About Paula

Paula Krueger considers herself a "baby "chef, not because she cooks for babies, but because she's still learning how to cook. She started this blog after taking Wilton method classes and at that point was more interested in baking. She's since become more interested in learning to cook as her family has grown. She also covers product reviews and travel as well.

Yes, although, like I said in my post, I was out of it and completely forgot my word not 5 minutes after I stepped off the scale. Sigh.

I have seen these commercials and I love them. What a great way to encourage people to do something and show them that they can gain so much!
