Chicago's Keep Going® Blogger! I’m excited to announce that Energizer® has chosen me to be Chicago’s Keep Going® Blogger for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® walk that will be held in Chicago from August 6-8! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® is an event where participants walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days to raise funds to end breast cancer forever. There were only 15 bloggers chosen to be a Keep Going® Blogger; one for each city that is holding a 3-Day for the Cure® walk. I’ll include links to the other bloggers at the bottom so you can follow their journey as well. As a Keep Going® Blogger I will be blogging, vlogging, and updating my Facebook and Twitter accounts as I train and as I participate in the walk.

I first heard about the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® walk back in the beginning of 2003. I lived in Florida then. My goal was to train for the walk and do it in Chicago so I could also get a trip back home to visit the family out of it. Well as I was looking it to the walk I found out I was pregnant. I gave up on the walk at that point. (I did lose that baby, but I also lost interest in doing much else at that point.) I was so excited to find out that Energizer® was looking for bloggers because I was hoping to finally get my chance to walk! I’m not exactly walking for anyone in particular. I was told that both my Grandmother and Aunt had breast cancer. I know they survived it. I know nothing else of their stories, though. So what I’d like to do is walk for YOU. I want to know YOUR stories. Did you personally have breast cancer? Are you personally affected by someone else that had breast cancer? Please share your stories with me to help me Keep Going® as the Energizer Bunny® would during my walk.

About Paula

Paula Krueger considers herself a "baby "chef, not because she cooks for babies, but because she's still learning how to cook. She started this blog after taking Wilton method classes and at that point was more interested in baking. She's since become more interested in learning to cook as her family has grown. She also covers product reviews and travel as well.

Sounds good! I wish they had a program like this for Indiana. I could use some PR love.

What an exciting endeavor – I wish you the best in your training and during the walk. It’s going to be really hard – but when you think about what it means I bet you will be able to draw a lot of inspiration from those around you. Good Luck!

Congrats Paula!! I wanted to walk in Tampa, but don’t really know how to go about getting donations.

Both my mom and grandmother had breast cancer. My grandmother beat it, but then got a rare form of Leukemia from the treatments- which in the long run ended up being the reason for her passing. Mom just battled breast cancer and kicked it’s butt! She went through both chemo and radiation and at the last checkup, the doctors seemed very happy and said as of right now she’s cancer free!

I’ve never been personally affected by breast cancer but there are so many women and families out there that are. I’m so proud of you for doing this walk and will definitely follow your journey!

Congratulations! I’m excited to be a part of this incredible event too!

I’m sorry to hear that you lost your baby. I completely understand not feeling like walking at that point. I also suffered a loss a couple of years ago and know exactly what you mean about not wanting to do anything. Look at us now though! If you had told me then that this opportunity would come along, I never would have believed it. Isn’t it so wonderful to be a part of something so giving?

Anyway, good luck with being a Keep Going Blogger. I’ll be following along too!
