Ok so I’m a little late getting this up. It was last week, but it was a crazy busy weekend.
77kids Do Good Day from Paula Krueger on Vimeo.
So last Wednesday two of my kids and I joined 76 other bloggers across the United States to “Do Good” on behalf of 77kids and The Motherhood. 77kids is a new store from American Eagle. They have awesome children’s clothing. The Motherhood is a place for moms to connect based on interests. My team had to actually split into two teams because we chose to go to the Ronald McDonald House and they couldn’t have 11 adults plus all our kids there at the same time. My group was team Hyde Park. We brought lunch for the families staying at the house along with items from their wishlist.
77kids also gave each of us bloggers 77 $1 bills to go out aInd do good on our own in our community. The kids and I headed over to Wal-Mart after our day downtown to do a little shopping. While we were there we handed out the money to the people shopping in the store. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to give out money. People would just kinda half smile at my kids when they would try to hand them money. It was definitely challenging. In retrospect I wish I had done something like my other teammates, for example: buy bottles of water to pass out at a sports game or practice or at a train station.

We really enjoyed our day of giving and I think sometime in the near future I may have just my family bring in dinner for the families there.

I love your kids shirts! My boys got matching green stripped shirts. They are super cute and so soft! I love how they have a 77 under the collar. I also like how there are alot of kids at your group! Haha. Mine 2 were the only kids that went. 🙁 Of course only 4 mom bloggers came out, otherwise maybe a few more kids would have been there!
Looks like you guys did some Good that day!!!

I’m not sure how I would have responded. My kids would have taken the money, but I don’t think I could have.
Paula says
It was wrapped in a little piece of paper that on one side had 7 things to do with a dollar and the other side was 7 ways to do good. It wasn’t just a dollar. Not sure if it would have been easier or harder to give it away if it was just a dollar… probably harder!

What a great thing to spend a day doing with your children and a great charity to help out!

What a great way to spend a day with the kids. We’re constantly teaching our kids to do good and have held some bake sales and donated items to local charities.

Wow… what a special day for you and your family. To be honest, I would be a little skeptical of a stranger trying to give me $1 as well. What a great life lesson for your kids.

I think this is such a great thing to teach our kids..to be kind to others. Of course, most of the people around here would have probably looked at me like I was insane, but who cares!
