I am currently trying to clean/organize my house and get my computer time in. I don’t want to drop back off the blogosphere again. The approach I’m taking is do one task for a song and then move on to another task. For example: right now I’m attempting to fold a mountain of clothes. I loathe folding clothes. So I’ll fold clothes until the current song on the radio is over and then I’ll sit at my laptop for one song then go back to my mountain of clothes. It’s working pretty well. I have approx one small basket of clothes left to fold. Next task is to put them all away. ugh…
I used The Sidetracked Home Executive book when I was in Florida to get a cleaning schedule set up. I need to work on that again.
What technique do you use to clean your house?

This sounds like an effective technique! I always clean with music on so I should try this 🙂

Have you seen the Fly Lady? There is a website if you google it. Anyhow, she set up cleaning “zones” and had a similar principal of setting a timer and only doing something you hate for a short period so it wouldn’t seem like such a chore. Anyhow…I used to try and follow her but got out of it. I need to do it again because my house is a MESS!
Good luck. I hate housecleaning.

I love the SHEs and FlyLady – in fact their system is what I modeled my system after for Party Plan Divas – I took their methods for a BUSINESS purpose, and voila! The Diva Success System! 🙂

that is a fabulous idea! I need to do that cause I absolutely HATE laundry too. I have 3 baskets of clean clothes needing put away….yay
What I’ve done is split housework but types…..like go and pick up the trash first, then pick up all the dishes, then all the clothes. I have given up on keeping the toys picked up LOL

Fly Lady rocks – keeps me in line even when I don’t want to be!

I hate cleaning the kitchen, but I try to clean up, load the dishwasher, sweep the floor, something, while dinner cooks instead of just standing there. That way I’m still in the kitchen paying attention to my food and the stove, but I’m not idle.
