My voice and piano teacher from Central Florida is taking advantage of the internet to teach his music lessons now, how cool is that?! Doug from My Music Expert is looking for voice and piano students to take lessons via Skype. Here’s a little snippet about Doug:

Doug Sinning lives in Oviedo, a suburb of Orlando, Florida, but went to college in Boston, MA. where he graduated from Berklee College of Music with a triple major in Music Synthesis, Songwriting/Composition, and Music Education.  Doug is an accomplished Vocalist, Pianist & Actor and teaches private LIVE Voice, Piano, and Songwriting lessons online to people around the world through his own eLearning website,www.MyMusicExpert.com.

Doug Sinning

My Music Expert is even hosting their first virtual student recital on May 22 at 2pm E. I’m going to do my best to “attend” the event. I took place in one of Doug’s live recitals when I lived in Central Florida. I sang two solos and had a solo line in the opening song of the show. Doug really helped me to come out of my shell. If I could have just gotten over my nerves and performed I would have done better. I think another term of lessons with Doug would have helped me immensely! Unfortunately I got pregnant and just couldn’t handle too many things going in my life at once.

Please check out Doug’s site and give it a try if you are interested in voice, piano or music score composition lessons! He’s encouraging and great to work with! Lessons are:

  • 1 hour live single session $45
  • Monthly subscription for 1 hour a week live $195/month
  • Monthly subscription for 1/2 hour a week live $97.50/month
  • Vocal Assessment (one time fee) $39.95

If you decide to check it out, please tell him Paula sent you!

disclaimer: This post is of my own experiences with lessons from Doug. I am not being compensated to write this post. I will receive a referral bonus if you sign up, just as you will if you refer someone.

About Paula

Paula Krueger considers herself a "baby "chef, not because she cooks for babies, but because she's still learning how to cook. She started this blog after taking Wilton method classes and at that point was more interested in baking. She's since become more interested in learning to cook as her family has grown. She also covers product reviews and travel as well.

Wow! It’s really amazing the way people are using the internet and social media; I was a Musical Theater major in college — I wonder if this type of concept will eventually extend to the college setting? I know that the internet is used for traditional classes, but I haven’t seen it used for music/dance classes.

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much Paula for blogging about my new adventures on the net.

I’m in my 7th month of teaching exclusively online now, and so far so great!

I’m also formulating group workshops or eLearning “Webinars” where I can have up to 200 people attending all at the same time, watching the same live presentation that I give. I will even have the ability to bring audience members onto the screen (up to 20 at a time!) in order to ask questions and work on musical problems and issues together! These “workshops” will be a bit cheaper in price as well, since they are in a group format.

I think the coolest part of this whole thing is that when I go on tour, I’ll still be able to teach in the afternoons while on the road.

    I’m embracing the new technology!

    Thanks again!
    Doug Sinning 🙂
