Feeling Good #the3day #keepgoing

I have to say I am feeling really good lately. My house is pretty presentable. I’ve been keeping up on my chores for a few days now, woo!! There are no baskets of clothes laying around to be folded or put away. No dishes in my sink. Counters wiped down. Toys put away before bed and beds made when we’re up in the morning. I’ve been consistently going to the gym and while I haven’t made weight progress yet, I can feel a difference in my calves and energy level!

Speaking of workouts, here’s a rundown so far, since being told I was going to be Chicago’s Keep Going® Blogger:

Brookfield Zoo Walk

Brookfield Zoo Walk

June 30 1.27 mile walk (pulling 3 kids in a wagon)

July 1 3.29 mile walk while pushing Little Man in a stroller

July 2 2.85 mile bike ride

July 4 1.34 mile walk (to parade and fireworks)

July 7 1.89 mile walk at the zoo

July 8 1.5 mile treadmill walk and pilates legs in the morning. PIYO workout in evening

July 9 3 mile treadmill walk

July 12 Spin class

July 13 3.5 mile treadmill walk

If only I could get my boxes unpacked and my kitchen finished I’d be golden! My goal is to get my kitchen ceiling done before going to Bloggers on Bourbon next weekend. Speaking of BOB, I’m still looking for a sponsor. If anyone would like to help me out, please let me know!

Chicago’s Keep Going® Blogger!

Chicago's Keep Going® Blogger! I’m excited to announce that Energizer® has chosen me to be Chicago’s Keep Going® Blogger for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® walk that will be held in Chicago from August 6-8! The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® is an event where participants walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days to raise funds to end breast cancer forever. There were only 15 bloggers chosen to be a Keep Going® Blogger; one for each city that is holding a 3-Day for the Cure® walk. I’ll include links to the other bloggers at the bottom so you can follow their journey as well. As a Keep Going® Blogger I will be blogging, vlogging, and updating my Facebook and Twitter accounts as I train and as I participate in the walk.

I first heard about the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® walk back in the beginning of 2003. I lived in Florida then. My goal was to train for the walk and do it in Chicago so I could also get a trip back home to visit the family out of it. Well as I was looking it to the walk I found out I was pregnant. I gave up on the walk at that point. (I did lose that baby, but I also lost interest in doing much else at that point.) I was so excited to find out that Energizer® was looking for bloggers because I was hoping to finally get my chance to walk! I’m not exactly walking for anyone in particular. I was told that both my Grandmother and Aunt had breast cancer. I know they survived it. I know nothing else of their stories, though. So what I’d like to do is walk for YOU. I want to know YOUR stories. Did you personally have breast cancer? Are you personally affected by someone else that had breast cancer? Please share your stories with me to help me Keep Going® as the Energizer Bunny® would during my walk.
