Thirsty Thursday: Cupid’s Punch

drinks, wine, non-alcoholic, liquorOk, it’s back! I’m going to start featuring drinks on Thursday’s again. Some may be alcoholic and some may not. This week’s is not. This is a great kid-friendly drink that is good for parties or Valentine’s Day.

Cupid’s Punch

  1. In a large punch bowl, mix the lemonade concentrate with the recommended amount of water.

Easy Valentine’s Day Petits Fours

Valentine's Day treat

Looking for something quick and easy to take to a Valentine’s Day party? How about some Petits Fours? Those little cakes always look like you spend hours on them. Mine are very simple and you can make them more elaborate by adding more decorations.

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz Pound Cake
  • Wilton Candy Melts
  • Frosting

Directions:

  1. Cut your pound cake in half lengthwise and then cut into 1″ cubes or use cookie cutter to cut shapes
  2. Melt your Wilton candy melts according to package directions.
  3. Place your cut pieces of cake on a cooling rack over a cookie sheet that is covered in wax paper. Pour your melted candy over the cake. Tap the pan to even it out.
  4. Let cakes harden
  5. Use your frosting to make a little rosette on top of the cake.
  6. I used a heart shaped candy mold to make the little hearts and stuck them in the frosting. Wilton also sells a heart shaped pick candy mold, which is what I wanted to buy, but they were out of them at the store. The pick would work better because my little hearts kept falling over.

brownie bites, wilton, Valentine's day

Ingredients

  • Brownie Mix (and needed ingredients to make the mix)
  • Wilton Brownie Pop Mold
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • Bamboo skewers or lollipop sticks
  • green food coloring
  • paper towel or cotton ball
  • rubber gloves
  • candy melts

Directions

  1. Make brownies according to box directions.
  2. Spray brownie pop pan with non-stick cooking spray
  3. Bake brownies according to box directions
  4. While brownies are baking, color your wooden skewers with the green food coloring. You may want to wear rubber gloves so you don’t end up with green fingers. Just pour a little food coloring into cotton ball or paper towel and swipe up and down the skewer until desired color is reached.
  5. Pop brownie pops out of pan and cool completely
  6. Melt your Wilton Candy Melts
  7. Dip the end of the skewer into the melt and then stick in the bottom of your popbrownie bites, Valentine's Day, wilton
  8. Let pops cool in refrigerator (or outside if you have 2-5 feet of snow on the ground like we do)
  9. Dip your pops in the melted candy and let harden in the cool air again
  10. Dip your pops a 2nd time, this time swirling the pop as you pull it out to give it the rose look. Let harden again
  11. Stick your pops in a vase with baby’s breath or mint leaves.
