We’re going on a Global Resort Vacation! #GlobalResort @globalresorts

Check out that beautiful house that my crazy family will be invading next week! I can NOT wait! Starting Friday, my family will be driving to Kissimmee, FL to spend a week relaxing, visiting old friends, spending family time, and possibly visiting Mickey Mouse. Global Resort Homes is making this possible for us by allowing me to review a home while we’re there.

I got to stay at Global Resorts while at Brandcation Kissimmee and since then have been dying to bring my family there to experience the awesomeness that is Global. The house we’ll be staying in is: 2,182 sq. feet 2 story Global Resort Homes, Kissimmee, FLhome with pool & spa 6 bedroom 4 bath 2 story home in the exclusive Windsor Hills Resort. 6 bedrooms, do you know what that means? Kids can go to bed at night and we can stay up and talk, watch tv, play cards, read, swim, whatever and NOT bother the kids like we would in a hotel. Charlie’s parents are coming with and I can’t wait to share this with them. None of us are going to want to leave the house to come home. Check out that kitchen, I know I won’t want to leave that! All that space! Speaking of kitchen, think how much money we can save by stocking the kitchen for the week with breakfast and lunch foods. Eating out every meal on vacation is expensive, especially for a family of 5 (7 this trip!)

Global Resort Homes, #GlobalResort, Kissimmee, FLOn our way down to Kissimmee we plan to try to do our own “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” tour along with trying to hit some state parks and fun things to do with the family. If you have any suggestions of places to eat between Chicago and Kissimmee, please let me know! We will probably be stopping in Kentucky to hit the Mammoth Caves and we’re talking about spending the day in St Augustine on the way back home. We went there on our one year wedding anniversary and loved it.

I can’t wait to share our trip with you. If you’re interested in learning more about Global Resort Homes and possibly booking a home, you can visit their website or follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Also, follow along on my Pinterest board to see what ideas I come up with for our trip.

Global Resort Homes is allowing me to review one of their homes for a week in exchange for my honest opinions.

Ziplining and Tubing at Adventures Unlimited #GulfCoast #Brandcation @adventursunltd

Our second day at Brandcation started off bright and early with a trip to Adventures Unlimited in Milton, FL. We got to zipline and tube down the Coldwater Creek. I’ve been ziplining before, but this was different. When we got there, they asked for volunteers to go on the “adventurous” course so that they could keep the groups moving along. I volunteered since I fell in love with zipping on the last Brandcation trip to Kissimmee.    The group that came with me was Awesome! The only person that said she was scared, was Amy from Grinning Cheek to Cheek and you wouldn’t have known it! She jumped right in and did great. I was so proud of her and everyone else in my group. Our guides were Dave and Brooke. Dave showed us some ripe Mulberries on our hike to our first zip. It was Brooke’s 18th birthday. Both of them were so nice and just a joy to be around! Our zip tour included a 900′ zip and a 700′ zip. I got to almost maximum speed on those two! I was FLYING! That also meant that as I was trying to stop myself, I burnt my hand through my glove. I still have a blister on my middle finger from it. I wouldn’t change it for the world, though. I love zipping and want to take my husband sometime soon.

After ziplining we were served a quick lunch of sandwich, chips, oranges, cookies and pop or water. Then it was time to suit up and head down the river! I was one of the first people on the river. A few people decided we were going to get off our tubes on the other side of the bridge to wait for everyone. I hopped off and tripped over a stump in the river and  moved out of the way. I should have stayed there, because Megan jumped off right after me, hit the same stump and lost her entire toenail! (Sorry Megan!) There was crossed signals and a few of us took off down the river. The majority of people hung out to take care of Megan. (Again, sorry, didn’t mean to ditch you!)

The beginning of the tubing trip I felt very much like a ping pong ball being bounced across the river and back. Eventually it did open up and became a smooth trip! Of course, by then, Maryann, Theresa and I decided we’d race for first place so there was no peaceful tubing trip for us! There was a point where there was an island in the middle of the river. If you went to the right, it was slow and easy and if you went to the left, there were rapids and it was fast moving. We went to the right and half of the group passed us. We weren’t having that, so that’s when we picked it up a notch and raced. I actually ended up beating Maryann by about 10 seconds. :)

Adventures Unlimited offers more than just ziplining and tubing. You can rent cabins, kayak, do rope courses for team building activities and so much more. Check them out on their websiteFacebook, and Twitter.

Blogger Beach Olympics #GulfCoast #Brandcation

This past weekend was Brandcation, held in Pensacola, FL. I’m going to share all of the events separately with you first and then do a wrap up post. We started off the weekend with Blogger Beach Olympics! What a great way to break the ice with 32 strangers! We were all split up into 4 condos/teams before the weekend began. I was in Kim’s condo. We decided to call ourselves The Ladybugs. The other three teams were Blondie’s condo: Snark Attack, Trisha’s condo: SEOs, and Lynsey’s condo: Beachin Bloggers. Our team had red shirts and ladybug wings (they were actually red butterfly wings, if you want to be technical.)

The first of the Blogger Olympic tasks was a picture scavenger hunt. We broke off into our groups and had to go around the Portofino Bay Resort, where we were staying, trying to find items and take pictures of them. We had to try to get the most pictures of pools, a picture of a surf board, flower, something in the spa, etc. Our team came in first because some of our girls were smart enough to hop on a golf cart to get taken from pool to pool! There was a little bit of backlash about the golf cart and that our team had two different cameras used to take pictures. (We all missed the rule where it was only supposed to be one camera used. Whoops!)

Next we actually headed down to the beach to start the real fun! Our first beach event was to build a White House sand castle. The condo leaders threw the buckets out into the water and had other tools on the beach. In true “Survivor” style, each team had to run to pick up whatever items they could to make the best sand castle. Do you know how hard it is to create the White House out of sand? Our team found two hermit crabs and used them as Mr and Mrs President. We also had a limo out front of the White House, which Mr President had walked to by the time it was our turn to talk about our castle.

The next event was the Blogger Float Relay Race! Blondie had to stand out in the water and one blogger from each team grabbed a pool float and while keeping her body on it had to swim, run, fly to Blondie and back to pass the float to the next person in line. That was hard work! Next was hula hooping! I have never seen such talented hula hoopers! Denise rocks at hula hooping! That woman could go all day if she wanted! (Must be something about having hips after having 9 kids?) After that we had a different relay race. This time we had to run over to a pile of items and get them on, shake our hips, undress and run back. The items were a grass skirt, coconut bra and shell necklace. It’s fun to see how creative people can be when in a hurry. The two teams that won that relay race went on to race each other with pass the beach ball.

Really, I couldn’t think of a better way to have an ice breaker and have people work together. No one held back and we all had a blast. There was so much laughing! Now with the placements: SEOs came in as Champions, Snark Attack was 1st runner up, Team Ladybug was 2nd runner up and Beachin Bloggers was 3rd runner up.

I wanted to give a huge thanks to Jambu Footwear for sponsoring the Beach Olympics! I’d love to get a pair of their shoes! They look so comfortable and cute. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
